Harold J. Burstein, MD, PhD, reviews the results of a recent multicenter, phase II, open-label trial of neratinib in patients with ErbB2-overexpressing, advanced breast cancer, comparing these results with those obtained with lapitinib in a similar population. Neratinib is an investigational, oral, small molecule inhibitor of ErbB family receptor tyrosine kinases with irreversible binding.
