Aromatase inhibitors (AI) are a standard, and successful, adjuvant therapy for postmenopausal survivors of hormone-receptor positive breast cancer; however, arthralgia is a common side effect. Dr. Harold J. Burstein provides expert commentary on a recent study that measured the patient-reported characteristics of AI-related arthralgia and produced important information about the onset and pattern of arthralgia as it relates to AI therapy.
