Healthline.com Names Top 10 List of Multiple Sclerosis Apps;
Two from Projects In Knowledge®

Little Falls, New Jersey—September 24, 2012—Two iPhone/iPad apps developed by Projects In Knowledge (PIK) that focus on the management of multiple sclerosis (MS)—Living Medical eTextbook: Multiple Sclerosis Edition and MedImage Cases Multiple Sclerosis—have been included in Healthline.com's 2012 list of the 10 best apps for MS patients. PIK is a leading developer of cutting-edge digital and mobile medical information tools for point-of-care use by busy clinicians.

Living Medical eTextbook: Multiple Sclerosis Edition provides originally researched, peer-reviewed coverage of critical MS data related to current and emerging therapies, improved immunosuppression and immunomodulation treatment strategies, neuroprotection and neuroregeneration, alternative therapies, and much more. Hyperlinks direct readers to external multimedia resources that enhance understanding of relevant issues. All content is curated and edited by noted neurology thought leaders and dynamically updated to ensure timeliness and accuracy.

MedImage Cases Multiple Sclerosis, a collection of interactive peer-reviewed case studies, explores the latest advances in MRI technologies and their practical application to MS patient care, disease management, and treatment monitoring. Each case presents actual patient MRIs and histories, insightful audio commentary and analysis by a renowned expert, a scrolling/downloadable transcript, and supplemental patient education materials.

Both apps also offer free CME/CE credit for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

"We are very pleased that our MS apps have been named to Healthline's Top 10 list," said Patty Peterson, CCMEP, Senior Vice President at PIK. "We know that informed patients access healthcare information and seek out credible sources of education. Although these apps are designed to help clinicians remain current on the latest developments in MS management, we're delighted to see that more and more patients are also accessing our apps as they search for advanced and up-to-date information on this challenging disease.

"As a word of caution, patients should only be making decisions about their MS management in collaboration with their physician, as this is a complex disease and not all treatments are appropriate for all patients," Peterson added.
