Projects In Knowledge® Announces Two Award Wins
MS MedImage Cases® and HCV Webcast Earn Silver

Livingston, New Jersey—December 11, 2012—Two clinician education programs from Projects In Knowledge (PIK) have received silver awards in two prestigious competitions. PIK is a leading developer of cutting-edge digital and mobile information tools and point-of-care continuing medical education (CME/CE) programs for busy clinicians

Multiple Sclerosis MedImage Cases, an interactive eTextbook of peer-reviewed case studies, earned a Silver Award, Mobile Websites—Education, in the 2012 Davey Awards competition. This series, also available as a free iPhone/iPad app, explores advances in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies and their use in patients with multiple sclerosis. Each case presents insightful expert analysis of a patient’s MRIs, a scrolling and downloadable transcript, and supplemental patient education materials.

Paradigm Shift in HCV Standard of Care Treatment: DAAs received a Silver Award, Webcast (Video), in the 2012 Summer/Fall Web Health Awards competition. Also available as a free iPhone/iPad app, the video replays the proceedings of PIK’s widely attended symposium on hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, held during a major hepatology conference. Didactic lectures and patient case vignettes presented by four prominent gastroenterology experts illustrate the latest data on direct-acting antiviral (DAA) therapies for the treatment of patients with HCV infection.

“Winning two silver awards, against so many worthy competitors, is a great honor for us. PIK’s mission is to develop exceptional point-of-care educational tools and resources that help clinicians improve patient care,” said Patty Peterson, CCMEP, Senior Vice President at PIK. “These awards validate this mission and motivate our entire team to continue to pursue excellence.”

The Davey Awards, sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, honors outstanding creative work exclusively from the finest small firms, agencies, and companies in the world.

The biannual Web Health Awards competition judges and recognizes high-quality digital health resources for consumers and healthcare professionals based on content, format, success in reaching the targeted health audience, and overall quality.
