TARGET AUDIENCE
Oncologists who treat patients with small cell lung cancer.
ACTIVITY GOAL
To update oncologists on the most current, clinically relevant data on chemotherapeutic interventions for small cell lung cancer.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Evaluate traditional and novel treatment options for SCLC, including single and combination chemotherapies, and innovative dosing and administration strategies.
- Incorporate new approaches to improve tolerance to chemotherapy without reducing efficacy.
- Assess the safety and efficacy of traditional and novel chemotherapies in recurrent or refractory SCLC.
- Institute the most appropriate treatment regimens in order to optimize outcomes in patients with recurrent or refractory SCLC.
- Translate the latest data on safety and efficacy in special populations, especially the elderly and those with poor performance status, to optimize outcomes in these patients.
