TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed for infectious disease specialists, hematologists, oncologists, hospital pharmacists, and transplant surgeons who treat patients who are immunocompromised due to their primary clinical status and/or therapeutic regimen and are therefore susceptible to opportunistic fungal infections.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Identify fungal pathogens commonly diagnosed in the immunocompromised patient to ensure early diagnosis and treatment.
  • Analyze potential resistance patterns among fungal pathogens.
  • Assess and incorporate the current guidelines in the treatment of fungal infections.
  • Formulate optimal treatment strategies utilizing knowledge of susceptibility testing, efficacy, and safety of available and emerging therapies.
  • Integrate mycosis prophylaxis strategies to improve at-risk patient outcomes.
