Dear Colleague:
Treating superficial bladder cancer (SBC) is a major challenge for urologists. The treatment goals are to spare the bladder, prevent disease progression and recurrence, and minimize treatment toxicity. Despite our efforts, approximately 30% of patients treated with the current standard regimen of intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) develop persistent or recurrent disease.
To help you educate clinicians on ways to improve on these patient outcomes, I am pleased to offer you Diagnostic and Treatment Issues in Superficial Bladder Cancer. This comprehensive slide kit presents you with slides and lecture notes covering important aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of SBC. It includes the most up-to-date findings on treatments for this disease and offers you a detailed discussion of their clinical relevance and application, including new information about emerging treatments such as BCG/interferon alfa-2b combination immunotherapy.
We hope that you find this slide kit a valuable aid in your work to educate the medical community about vital issues on SBC and to convey to clinicians the practical steps they may take to improve outcomes in their SBC patients.
Sincerely,
