Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common cause of irreversible vision loss in Americans. With our population aging, the number of people with AMD is on the rise.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This CME/CE activity will be directed to practice managers involved in the care of patients with AMD.

ACTIVITY GOAL
The goal of this CME/CE activity is to review the scientific and practical business aspects of managing patients with AMD.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Utilizing a knowledge of AMD and the efficacy and safety/toxicity implications of new targeted therapies, formulate anti-VEGF therapies into regimens to improve patients’ vision outcomes.

  • By integrating an understanding of billing pitfalls with new therapies, create and institute more efficient billing methods.

  • Identify and evaluate strategies for incorporating efficiencies into the practice setting to obtain reimbursement for patient services, including new anti-VEGF therapies.
