Circle of Experts:
Strategies for Improving Outcomes of Patients with Chronic HBV
Free 1.5-hour CME/CE Webcast Featuring Expert Faculty

Dear Colleague,

The Circle of Experts: Strategies for Improving Outcomes of Patients with Chronic HBV webcast has been developed to help clinicians stay up-to-date on the complex diagnostic, treatment, and monitoring strategies related to the therapeutic agents currently available to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.

This webcast reviews the epidemiology and natural history of HBV infection; examines the diagnostic challenges involved in using histologic, serologic, virologic, and biochemical measurements; discusses how these findings interact with the choice of current and emerging treatments; and offers guidance on managing the care of difficult-to-treat patients.

We encourage you to order your free CD-ROM or view the webcast online today!

Sincerely,

TARGET AUDIENCE
This satellite symposium is designed for gastroenterologists and hepatologists who care for patients with hepatitis B infection and patients who are at increased risk for acquiring the infection.

ACTIVITY GOAL
The goal of this activity is to provide gastroenterologists and hepatologists who see patients with hepatitis B infection and patients who are at increased risk for acquiring the infection with state-of-the-art information on the pathophysiology of chronic HBV as well as current and emerging therapies. The program provides lectures as well as clinical case studies for discussion in a theater-style setting by experts in the field.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Given the epidemiology and natural history of chronic HBV infection, determine the differences between HBeAg-positive and HBeAg-negative chronic HBV to determine potential patient morbidity and mortality.

  • Integrate an understanding of factors contributing to the progress of chronic HBV into actionable steps to improve patient morbidity and mortality.

  • Evaluate current diagnostic and monitoring approaches in chronic HBV patients to determine the stage of disease.

  • Based on the efficacy and safety of current and emerging therapies, differentiate therapies and formulate strategies for the treatment of chronic HBV to improve response rates in a broad spectrum of patients.

  • Incorporate current and emerging therapies into treatment approaches for the "difficult-to-treat" chronic HBV patient with the goal of improving patients' responses.
