TARGET AUDIENCE
This CME/CE activity is designed for gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and other clinicians who treat patients with viral hepatitis.

ACTIVITY GOAL
The goal of this CME/CE activity is to provide gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and other clinicians with new clinical insights and proven treatment strategies for optimizing the management of patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Assess key differences in the natural history and clinical management of HBV and HCV infection.
  • Devise appropriate prevention and screening strategies for patients who may be at risk for HBV infection.
  • Recommend anti-HBV treatment options utilizing an understanding of associated rates of efficacy.
  • Determine patient profiles most appropriate for each alternate treatment regimen.
  • Integrate an understanding of the complications of anti-HBV therapy into improved treatment strategies.
