Robert Stern, M.A., President & CEO

Bob Stern, a healthcare innovator for the past 30 years, founded Projects In Knowledge in 1980. In the early 1980s, Bob pioneered the use of distance learning technologies and created a rich array of medical programming. Under Bob's leadership, the company has become one of the most creative and innovative CME providers in the world. Bob is passionate about demonstrating responsible leadership and delivering medical education programs in engaging new ways. The company is committed to driving customer satisfaction and developing opportunities for both employees and physician/healthcare learners.

Bob established several successful, long-term strategic alliances with medical schools to provide CME/CE to the physician community and other healthcare professionals. He is also the founder and CEO of MedPage Today, a pioneering Internet site that offers CME/CE credits to doctors and healthcare personnel, as well as providing medical information and news to the lay audience. In addition, Bob is the editor of Genome—the first anthology devoted to exploring how the human genome was mapped.

Bob has received awards of excellence for his film and video work, and Exhibitor magazine acknowledged his work as "breakthrough." His immediate postgraduate training, from the New York University School of Film and TV, was in communications with an emphasis on medical communications. Bob holds a master's degree in education.
